I started playing guitar at fourteen, and music has been part of my life ever since. Over the years I’ve been active in many parts of the European blues scene — as a musician, DJ, producer, promoter, label owner and collaborator.
Bluestronica brings together the different sides of that journey: blues roots, electronic grooves, recordings, collaborations and the music that shaped my path.
Blues and new directions
My musical roots are firmly in the blues, but traditions stay alive by evolving. Technology, electronic grooves and modern production approaches can give roots music new energy.
Bluestronica explores that space where blues feeling and electronic grooves meet — guitars with beats, old recordings inspiring new creations.
I recently wrote more about this idea in a blog post about why blues and electronic music are a natural combination, connected through groove, repetition and technology.
Projects
** ElectroBluesSociety
A duo project with Jasper Mortier combining blues traditions with modern technology — loops, samples and video projection.
Our influences range from Alan Lomax to Roxy Music, and from Led Zeppelin to techno. We recorded more than 40 tracks and collaborated with several vocalists.
Our best-known project was Transatlantic Quarantine Sessions with Boo Boo Davis during the COVID pandemic in 2021.
Some unreleased recordings and live videos can be found in the Archives section.

** miXendorp

miXendorp combines DJ sets, remixes and live blues guitar.
Between 2011 and 2018 I performed live DJ sets at festivals including Fusion Festival, Sziget, North Sea Jazz Festival, Dranouter, Meeresrausch and Cognac Blues Passions, as well as clubs across Europe.
ElectroBlues DJ sets, unreleased remixes and some live videos are available in the Archives section.
** BLu ACiD
Blu AciD was a production collaboration with musician and producer Mischa den Haring.
Between 2014 and 2016 we released several tracks, starting with a collaboration with Boo Boo Davis that resulted in his album What Kind Of Shit Is This?
Our goal was to preserve the power of American roots music while incorporating influences from other styles and modern production techniques.

A lifetime in music
Over the years I’ve been involved in touring, recording and releasing music, both on stage and behind the scenes. Live performances, studio work and long-term collaborations have taken me to countless venues and festivals across Europe.
All those experiences, influences and connections now come together here, in Bluestronica — alongside artists, labels and projects that form part of a wider ecosystem of kindred spirits.
With every playlist, remix or collaboration my aim remains the same:
