About Bluestronica

I started playing guitar at the age of fourteen, and music has been part of my life ever since. Over the years I’ve been involved in many parts of the European blues scene — as a musician, DJ, producer, promoter, label owner and collaborator.

At the core of everything I do is a love for blues and roots music, combined with a curiosity for new sounds and ways of making music.

My musical roots are firmly in the blues, but I’ve always felt that traditions stay alive by evolving. Technology, electronic grooves and different production approaches can give roots music new energy.

That idea eventually led to Bluestronica — a place where blues feeling and electronic grooves come together. Guitars meet beats, old recordings inspire new creations, and playlists reflect the music that shaped my journey.

I recently wrote in more detail about this way of thinking in a blog post on why blues and electronic music are a natural combination — exploring groove, repetition and technology as shared foundations rather than opposites.

Earlier ElectroBlues DJ sessions recorded under the name miXendorp are presented here as part of a miXendorp archive, reflecting a specific period and approach rather than official releases.

For a number of years I also recorded and performed together with Jasper Mortier under the name ElectroBluesSociety. We released tracks as a duo and also worked with several guest musicians.

There are also some tracks we used to play live that were never officially released. A few of those recordings can be found in the ElectroBluesSociety archive.

Over the years I’ve been involved in touring, recording and releasing music, both on stage and behind the scenes. Live performances, studio work and long-term collaborations have taken me to countless venues and festivals across Europe.

All those experiences, influences and connections now come together here, in Bluestronica — alongside artists, labels and projects that form part of a wider ecosystem of kindred spirits.

With every playlist, remix or collaboration, my aim remains the same:

Keep living music alive – and bring it into the present day
