Bluestronica Funk – New Compilation Out September 27

The Bluestronica series continues with Bluestronica Funk, a new compilation bringing together blues, funk, groove and electronic production.

This new compilation features ElectroBluesSociety, Boo Boo Davis, miXendorp and BLu ACiD and is released September 27, 2026 on Black & Tan Records.

Four artists, four different approaches — but with a common starting point: the blues.

On Bluestronica Funk, blues vocals and electric guitars meet deep grooves, funky rhythms, electronic beats and contemporary production. The result is not an attempt to turn blues into electronic music, but rather to explore what can happen when the two worlds meet.

The blues remains at the heart of the music, but the surroundings change.

Some tracks lean towards funk and groove, others towards electronic production and darker beats. Together they show different sides of the Bluestronica idea: using the blues as a starting point and taking it somewhere beyond the traditional boundaries of the genre.

ElectroBluesSociety brings its characteristic combination of blues and electronic sounds, while Boo Boo Davis represents the direct connection with the raw, traditional side of the blues. miXendorp approaches the blues from an electronic and experimental angle, and BLu ACiD adds another perspective to the mix.

Bluestronica Funk is the latest chapter in the ongoing Bluestronica series — a series built around the meeting point of blues and contemporary production.

The starting point is still the blues but the destination is somewhere else.

  • new release – Global Electric Soul

new release – Global Electric Soul

Every Bluestronica album starts with a simple question.

This time it was: what happens when blues meets rhythms and sounds from different parts of the world?

That idea became Global Electric Soul. The album mixes electronic blues with desert grooves, world percussion and cinematic textures, while keeping the guitar at the centre of the music.

There’s no concept to explain or message to decode. Just a collection of tracks inspired by different places, different rhythms and a shared love of the blues.

We hope you’ll enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it.

new Release: Bluestronica — Swinging Electric Roots

A new Bluestronica release brings together blues grooves, roots influences and electronic production in a relaxed, rhythm-driven collection of tracks and remixes.

The release features music from artists including Boo Boo Davis, Blu ACiD, Mississippi Big Beat, ElectroBluesSociety, Roscoe Chenier, Bacon Fat Louis, Harrison Kennedy and miXendorp.

The tracks combine blues vocals, harmonica, guitars and roots grooves with electronic beats, subtle production layers and downtempo influences. Some songs lean more toward electro swing and groove-based remixes, while others stay closer to traditional blues feeling with a modern touch.

Rather than treating blues as a museum style, this release approaches it as living music that can still connect with contemporary sounds and audiences.

Several tracks are built around strong grooves and rhythmic loops, making the release suitable not only for blues listeners, but also for fans of lounge, roots electronica, nu-jazz and alternative groove music.

The combination of organic instruments and electronic production creates an atmosphere that works equally well for listening at home, late-night radio, playlists and relaxed club settings.

With this release, Bluestronica continues exploring the space between roots music and modern groove culture — without losing the raw and human feeling that makes blues music timeless.

  • Bluestronica: Electric Delta Beats

    Bluestronica: Electric Delta Beats

We just released the third compilation in the Bluestronica series.

Blues has always changed over time. Electric Delta Beats continues that process in a straightforward way.

The idea behind Bluestronica is simple: take the core elements of blues — vocals, guitar, groove — and place them in a modern production context. Electronic beats and hip-hop influences add a different perspective, without losing what makes the blues what it is.

On this release, artists like Boo Boo Davis, Doug MacLeod and Big George Jackson are paired with producers and musicians including Blu ACiD, miXendorp, Rivherside, Jimmy Reiter and ElectroBluesSociety.

The result is not a reinvention, but a shift in setting. Same roots, different surroundings.

For listeners who prefer high-quality audio and album-focused platforms, this release is also available on Qobuz.

Dark Beats & Electric Soul – The Bluestronica Series Continues

With Dark Beats & Electric Soul, the Bluestronica series moves further into the tension between tradition and technology. This second chapter pulls the blues out of its comfort zone and wires it into modern electronic production—without losing the grit, the groove, or the soul.

Featuring artists like Boo Boo Davis, Byther Smith, Mississippi Big Beat, BLu ACiD, ElectroBluesSociety, Rivherside and miXendorp, this compilation brings together deep-rooted voices, raw guitars, and dirty harmonicas with heavy beats and dark, hypnotic textures. Some tracks rework classic material, others push forward with new originals, but the focus is always on feel and attitude.

This is not about polishing the blues. These tracks rough it up, stretch it, and let it breathe in a new electric space. Tradition is the backbone—but the sound is restless, modern, and built for late nights, low lights, and open ears.

For listeners who prefer high-quality audio and album-focused platforms, this release is also available on Qobuz.
